A Writing Journey

First Lines
A Writing Discovery Exercise:
Use one of these as your first line and continue to write where it leaves off. Try to write continuously, without stopping or editing. See where it takes you. Enjoy!

  • I had a bad feeling about today.
  • It was the night of...

  • Tomorrow I'm going to..
  • It began years ago.
  • He was afraid.
  • It was a dark and stormy night.
  • She never expected it.
  • Its strange to be here.

Ooooh, what about something strange? "It all started with the cat..."

Aaaah, Andrea, I LOVE this post. LOVE. I'm bookmarking it and coming back to it. I'm in a slump. I've been aching to write something--ANYTHING--for over a year now, but I've been at a TOTAL loss on where to start. This is PERFECT.

Oh, and the QUOTE. Andrea, seriously *hugs* this was SO inspirational. THANK YOU! ♥

    1. Thanks L.G. I love the name of your blog as well! It was fun checking it out tonight. It think out of all of the lines, the middle ones are hardest for me. I seem to have a million ideas to get started though.
