A Writing Discovery Exercise:
Use one of these as your first line and continue to write where it leaves off. Try to write continuously, without stopping or editing. See where it takes you. Enjoy!

  1. Mahaha! Once upon a time :P

Ooooh, what about something strange? "It all started with the cat..."

Aaaah, Andrea, I LOVE this post. LOVE. I'm bookmarking it and coming back to it. I'm in a slump. I've been aching to write something--ANYTHING--for over a year now, but I've been at a TOTAL loss on where to start. This is PERFECT.

Oh, and the QUOTE. Andrea, seriously *hugs* this was SO inspirational. THANK YOU! ♥

  2. Oooh, I love those first lines! I'm going to add them to the list. =^.^=

Hopefully these will help get the writing started :) Thank you!!

  3. Ha! I've got my first line. What I need are all those middle lines that get me to the last line. :P

Love the name of your blog!

    1. Thanks L.G. I love the name of your blog as well! It was fun checking it out tonight. It think out of all of the lines, the middle ones are hardest for me. I seem to have a million ideas to get started though.

    1. thanks Michelle. Oooh Macabre, I do love the dark side sometimes. I'm sure that first line will be a good hook :)

  5. I *love* these lines. And now, even at almost 1 a.m., I want to write. You are so good at that! (by that, I mean the whole 'inspiration' thing). :)

Thanks for posting this! If I think of any good lines, I'll let you know!

    1. Thank you, thank you, and thank you! hehehe, glad I can help inspire. That is my aim! :)

  6. I'm so happy when I find prompts like these. I love to take them on as a writing challenge! Thank you!

    1. Thanks Liza! I hope you will accept the challenge sometime and try one of these out. Let me know if you find any other good first lines. :)
