It's good to be back and with a new web design too!
I needed a break after writing a book in a month and some time to try to figure out a few things, like what should I do with my life? When and how should I go back to school? Etc. Still working on those but at least I'm making progress.
I have decided to take more classes, and try to work on bettering myself inside and out. I realize that I can't spend as much time blogging so I have been thinking about the direction I want take this blog. I still want it to be about writing inspiration and ideas, but maybe focus on a some things more than others? I would love some feedback from you if you have a moment.
As a reader what kinds of things do you enjoy most, find the most helpful, or want more of?
- writing exercises
- inspiration
- amusing ideas
- book reviews
- humor
- step-by-step guides
- personal accounts
- quotes
- writing prompts
- humor
- current blog and writing events
- others?
Thanks for your help!
Welcome back! Love the new look!
ReplyDeleteHey, glad to see your back in the blog world :) Love the new look of the blog, so pretty. Hope school and life are going well. As for what I'd like to see one the blog, I always love seeing how writers are getting on with their writing, and I always love writing prompts or excercises.
ReplyDeleteYour new blog template is sensational! It's fits the name just lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat I like to read on blogs is:
1. Inspiration
2. Book reviews
3. Personal accounts.
Welcome back:)
I like inspirational posts and then everything in your list from humor down. I find that I often skip book review posts due to time constraints--unless it's a book I'm considering reading or one that I've already read and want to see how my thoughts compare to the reviewer's.
ReplyDeleteNice job on the redesign!
Welcome back! I like inspirational posts, prompts and upcoming events

Welcome back and what a lovely new design. I like to hear about writers progress and their current projects. Inspirational posts and a little humour are always good too.
ReplyDeleteHey Andrea! I just tagged you for a MeMe. Stop by my blog to see
ReplyDeleteFor some reason it is not giving me an option to respond individually to comments. I'm working on trying to figure that one out!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of the responses and suggestions! You guys are awesome! :) :)
Andrea
Love the new look.
ReplyDeleteI like the humor, step by step guides, current writing events, personal accounts.
Hey Andrea! Welcome back. Your blog looks wonderful (Lori is awesome)! I like inspiration, reviews, and personal accounts. I can't wait to hear more about your book.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback, guys! I love Lori's design too. Thanks for the support.
ReplyDeleteAndrea
Love the new look! I personally enjoy the first couple bullets in your list. Glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteYay, you're back, you're back!!! DIG your new blog design - it's *almost* as lovely as you are.
ReplyDeleteBut to answer your question: I want all of the above, please. Pace yourself!
(That was so totally not helpful, huh?) ;-)

Welcome back! I LOVE this new look. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteYour question: I like a little of everything. Short posts are good for me with my lack of time. Tips now and then, something to make me laugh, an update on your life. A little bit of everything makes for a good blog. :)
Welcome back. I love the new look of your blog. I like writing tips and book reviews.

ReplyDeleteOoo - your blog is pretty. :)
DeleteI like a mixture of things - writing tips, inspiration, little tidbits about the blogger's life, how-to's (like Carrie Butler's how to make a blog button), whatever.
I am learning as I delve more into social media that I enjoy them more if they're brief. I just don't have time to read 20 paragraphs anymore. (And I'm trying to remember that fact when I write mine. LOL)
One thing that has helped me have more time for writing is to pre-schedule my blog posts. Right now, I have them (two per week) scheduled through early September.
Anyhow, good luck. And don't leave us. Keep blogging. :)
IWSG #179 (At least until Alex culls the list again. :P)
I have some blog awards for you to pick up if you're inclined to do so.

Welcome back! Love the new design, very pretty :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great that you're taking suggestions for what your blog should focus on, but I would argue that it should be whatever you want it to be! That said, if you're asking what I'd like to see more of?
inspiration - I could always use more of that!
book reviews - sometimes I enjoy these more than the books themselves
humor - for those days when I'm ready to pull my hair out
step-by-step guides - definitely need these
personal accounts - always great to see what others are experiencing
Either way, I'll keep checking in no matter what you blog about. Keep writing!
I've been considering a blog overhaul as well and I've been wondering the same thing. But if you're ready to change, you're one step ahead! I would suggest: writing exercises, inspiration, excerpts (if you're comfortable), personal accounts, and/or writing prompts.
ReplyDeleteAlso, thanks for the follow on my blog!
